Suicide Prevention Day: It Gets Better

Today is an important one: It’s Suicide Prevention Day. I hope you readers have an opportunity to talk someone out of a funk, or just to exercise an act of kindness which- by ripple effect- can remind somebody that life doesn’t entirely suck. Emotional health is vital to our well-being, and not only does the act of receiving help feel good, but giving it does too.

Because truly, life does get better.

Life may not be where we would like it to be- we might not be rich, famous, thin, healthy, in a relationship, or in a room full of Apple products. But, we are alive, and we get chances to keep going. Even if the going is tough and feels like absolute, total shit, it’s no reason to turn off our own light, and stop shining.

Therefore, please take a moment for some kindness and reflection. Let your example help someone else. Or, just hug someone.

Additionally, please take a look at the referrals I carry in the header of this blog, which carries links and contact numbers to some pretty worthy charities like TWOLHA and Samaritans of New York.
